25 podcasts

That's the maximum amount of different sources of downloadable audio my brain can handle. Plus they form two neat rows in my iTunes that way. Some shuffle out and in with favoritude, about a dozen are chartered members, including the 5 or 6 remaining founders.

I don't know if you guys do the whole podcast thing, but a lot of funny people have started their own podcasts in the last couple of years, which can be a great distraction from the torrential, unceasing downpour of your own brain.

Some of my new iTunes faves include:

Jay Mohr - Mohr Stories (comedian & actor interviews)
Paul Scheer - How Did This Get Made (rips on bad movies, new and old)
Kevin Smith & Jon Lovitz - The ABCs of SNL (they only have 2 episodes so far)
The Todd Glass Show (irreverent, avant-garde humor)
Nick Di Paolo and Artie Lange - The Nick & Arty Show (sports show)

Coincidentally, there are 25 posts to go before we tie last year's number of posts at 158. That's a little less than 1 every other day, so we gotta step it up, or else there will be a statistical downtrend in place, and we can't have that.

I have a lot of free time.

This is classified...

All the comments on U Tube take this video seriously. I believe the logo in the lower right corner indicates it is from

I put down 50 or 60 dogs today

You have to skip to about :56 for the real quality to begin, which actually only lasts for about a minute. I tried to figure out how to put that "start at 56 seconds" part into the embed code but apparently I'm not a very good coder. So I'm mentioning it the analog way.

Is it November already?

Because I'm ready for my next Thom post. I noticed he was a guest DJ in one of the podcasts I listen to, and sure enough his performance even made the Huffington Post. I'm downloading the remix album right now to give it a whirl. Here is the video for his "electro-minimalist" set at the Boiler Room in London. He loves to get his groove on:

(edit: I really only dig the first and last tracks that he spins. and its funny to watch the crowds reaction between songs -- they just kind of shrug their shoulders like, "oh well" when he doesn't really mix the tracks together. he's more or less just playing songs that he thinks are dope in his cracked out Thom Yorke brain, which is cool with me.)

This guy actually took the time to properly lip sync the grunting.

I love this video. The music and visuals suck me into this mid-twentieth century Eastern Europe world that I somehow have nostalgia for. The chords in the verse remind me of BTF, too.

More Thom electro bizarreness

I figure we need a good Thom post about once a month, just to stick to our clean roots.

Grayson knows how to play politics...

...without spraying BS.

"Oh, look, they're standing in the audience."

P.J. O'Rourke comes off as a total fool.

Here's a repost of the video where Grayson owns the Fed.

Who are the pundits trying to fool?

You can smell the evaporating credibility. Have they no self-preservation instincts? If they do, they must either:

1) Believe the masses are indifferent enough to buy this BS.

2) Believe their employers/financial backers will take care of them no matter what happens.

I love the last comment: "Were there really alot of people down there? I...I could never tell."

Is this the rhetoric that precedes class war?

Or maybe he hasn't yet figured out how to leverage the situation politically.

"What they're trying to do is take the jobs away from people working in this city," Bloomberg said on his weekly radio show, adding that the protests "aren't productive" and weren't good for tourism.

The News Story.

...Steve Jobs, I'll kind of miss you...

So Steve Jobs left us today, and in a weird way I kind of feel sad about that.

This video: a possible definition of "Cleansmanship?" Discuss.

I don't normally endorse these types of videos

... the personal camera-in-your-face commentary-type videos, let alone like them, but this one is pretty informative and humorous. and the guy turns out to be pretty likeable, imo...
