He was a fucking productive 'ol limey who helped literally hundreds of keen music acts reach a mainstream audience. You may have seen an occasional album title ending with the words "the Peel Sessions," which means the band/artists recorded a session in his BBC1 studio. He may well be one of the biggest badasses in the biz that ever was. Some of my favorite sessions were for Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Joy Division, New Order and The Cure.
I dunno, I just thought there should be some more content on the web about this monster of a magnate. I want to be more like him, except less deceased. RIP Peely.
