The spice must flow!

Apparently, the spice does not extend life, nor expand consciousness. However, I still feel that it's probably vital to space travel.

The consumption of spice (while I have done it before of course, when it was legal) violates 2 major life lessons I've had in development:

1. Try not to consume inorganic materials, aka stuff we haven't been ingesting for 1000s of years already.

2. Your lungs weren't designed to handle daily forest fires or toxic waste fires.

But then I got put on a cholesterol medication recently where each pill is 600 mgs, so I'm supposed to consume 1.2 grams of manmade material on a daily basis. One of the potential, secondary side effects: cancer. Hooray for science!

I've gotten this far into life without melting certain large parts of my brain too badly so I should probably quit while I'm ahead. That doesn't stop me from perusing the catalogue of research chems out there on the internets and wondering what could have been.
