The next-gen procedurally generated universe exploration games are finally starting to arrive...

Click on the picture above for a good article. This is the type of game that we always discussed in our younger years. I think the difficult thing will be to find the right mixture between the exploration of the randomness and some kind of structured game play.

This is definitely some hot tech. You've probably checked out the Chris Roberts project, 'Star Citizen' too.

I would love to see a game like this that delivers satisfying ship systems mechanics. Imagine a spaceflight simulation game that had the feel of one of the DCS world games like A10 or Blackshark. The ships controls would need to be somewhat simplified of course (no need for a 32 keypress startup sequence), but it would great to have a little extra complexity in there to bring home that mersive feeling of space travel.
