Finally, some cleanworthy news

http://celebcafe.org/radiohead-have-finished-recording-new-album-band-plans-to-tour-in-2016-5140/

Even if the entire story is the headline.

This is an excellent cover if you haven't heard it yet. His "Knives Out" rendition is also pretty amazing.

I can't believe it's already been 4 years since King of Limbs. My how time flies. Hopefully the new album won't purely be Thom doing synth percussion with his own personally sampled diarrhea noises.

The Orb already used samples of elephants shitting in a song so Thom wouldn't be living up to my expectations for his originality if he did. Hopefully it will be a bit more along the lines of In Rainbows than King of Limbs.

Yeah I just listened to a live studio recording of the entire King of Limbs album and I have to say it is pretty awful, compared to all other Radiohead albums. There is 1 song on it I enjoy, in the middle, can't remember the name of it.

I don't consider King of Limbs to be a total loss, but I do wish that Radiohead would shift a bit back toward traditional instruments and arrangements, and shift away a bit from synth blips, bops, torques, tweaks, twags, trags, and phags. I realize that they may be bored with guitar, bass, drums, and the like, but I think they need to reintroduce a small dose of the OK Computer-era sound.

Don't get me wrong. I love me some synth if done well, but much of the recent Radiohead synth exploration has been a bit too out-there for my taste. Maybe I'm just not evolved enough.

Nah, its not just you. But I don't think they can go backwards. There's a few songs on In Rainbows that sound a bit like the first 3 albums but Johnny and Thom are tweakers and knob fiddlers at heart. BTW if you call an English person a knob fiddler it probably has a different connotation.
