You may have seen an occasional album title ending with the words "the Peel Sessions," which means the band/artists recorded a session in his BBC1 studio. I remember reading about these particular claims back in the day, about 4 years ago, and for the most part they were dismissed as misdirective bullshit. They've just been resurfaced as sloppy fodder against what appears to be the #1 contender (at least in Iowa) for this silly sideshow of a distraction we call the GOP Nominee Race.

For me, politics is kind of like the new sports. I appreciate the mental gymnastics, the showmanship, the spontaneous fights and comraderies, the big plays, the low blows and the knockouts. Somebody bring Rick Perry a stretcher. Of course if politics were sports, Obama would whip everybody's ass in a game of one-on-one.

I'll of course watch the Super Bowl at a bar whilst imbibing upper-echelon brews with fellow drunken compatriots and pseudo-rivals, as the forefathers intended, but I also tend to do the same on major election days, from 2004 through the present. Competition begets alcoholism.

So, basically, the main points of this exercise are:

A. A (more-or-less) parallel relationship between a country's GDP and its stock markets should exist, and right now stocks are way overvalued.
B. Bailouts create moral hazard and encourage corporate greed/sloppiness

C. Lack of regulation creates systemic risk (extreme leverage scenarios, unmanageable or un-valuable MBSs and CDSs).

D. We're due for a big "correction" at some point; who knows when. But when it does happen, I expect the Dow to fall to somewhere between 7000-8000. Its currently at 11,770, so that would be about a 35% drop.

editor's note: in hindsight, I could have been a little more generous with the "trend line" (black line); perhaps the market was truly oversold at its bottom in early 2009.

...fucking clean. I'm very pleased with it. They've simplified certain things and removed some complexity, but I'm not upset about that. I feel like almost all the changes are for the better, except maybe for the fact that I can't sort items by weight in the inventory screen. It's definitely the best looking game I've ever seen. It has such a massive scope of fluidly streaming terrain with clean weather effects, you really feel like a Nordic powerhouse blazing trails to new lands.

1a) I considered deleting the post but did something else instead.

3) I then secured a new lease on life for the post by putting up an image of the "Ghost Ship" movie poster. The cycle was complete.

3b) I became curious as to whether anyone else noticed.

I had an idea for a book or a movie involving the multiverse, of course. The plot is centered around this dude who has an extremely rare brain mutation that allows him to interact subconsciously with past and present earths, as well "dark matter"-composed invisible universes which coincide in time with our own.

For example, he hears things on old radio commentary shows that coincide precisely with his current predicament, and the people in the past recordings can almost feel the dude's intrusion on their reality as he listens to the program, They comment on it by saying what the dude is thinking they're about to say, and it turns out that's the way the broadcast always was. (hope that makes some sense)

With the help of a new psychoactive drug which targets a previously unknown neurotransmitter system that allows the dude to become more aware of the existence of the multiverse, he learns that things that happened in the past are an unavoidable part of the future. There's all these other communicable universes within the multiverse that run parallel in time with him, and he builds a brain-computer module that allows him to interface with different, individual universes.

Basically, the message comes down to the idea that all things coexist at all times across the spectrum of the multiverse, which is composed of an infinite amount of universes, and that we are doomed to repeat the past as we inevitably cannot escape the relative non-evolution of human nature.

That's the maximum amount of different sources of downloadable audio my brain can handle. Plus they form two neat rows in my iTunes that way. Some shuffle out and in with favoritude, about a dozen are chartered members, including the 5 or 6 remaining founders.

I don't know if you guys do the whole podcast thing, but a lot of funny people have started their own podcasts in the last couple of years, which can be a great distraction from the torrential, unceasing downpour of your own brain.

Because I'm ready for my next Thom post. I noticed he was a guest DJ in one of the podcasts I listen to, and sure enough his performance even made the Huffington Post. I'm downloading the remix album right now to give it a whirl. Here is the video for his "electro-minimalist" set at the Boiler Room in London. He loves to get his groove on:

(edit: I really only dig the first and last tracks that he spins. and its funny to watch the crowds reaction between songs -- they just kind of shrug their shoulders like, "oh well" when he doesn't really mix the tracks together. he's more or less just playing songs that he thinks are dope in his cracked out Thom Yorke brain, which is cool with me.)

You can smell the evaporating credibility. Have they no self-preservation instincts? If they do, they must either:

or

2) Believe their employers/financial backers will take care of them no matter what happens.
